There was a time I was "the smart one." 🧠

"Oh, let her do it. She can figure it out. She can fix that. She can look it up for you."

She can. She can. She can.

And so people began to depend on me for everything — interrupting my day, my operations, my life — with whatever they needed troubleshot.

And I would stop what I was doing. Every time. Because fixing it made me feel valuable. It made me feel needed. It made me feel smart.

What I didn't realize back then was that being "the smart one" isn't a compliment when it costs you your peace, your time, and your own needs.

Being needed is not the same as being loved. And always being the fixer is exhausting when no one ever asks if you need fixing too.
