The next time someone offers to help you —

Don't say "I've got it."
Don't say "I'm fine, thank you."

Pause.

Let them.

And then notice what happens inside you.

Do you feel guilty?
Uncomfortable?
Like you're creating a burden?
Do you immediately think about how to repay them?

Because here's what I know about high-achieving women:

You've spent years being the one who gives. Who fixes. Who remembers. Who takes care of everyone else.

And receiving has become unfamiliar.

Maybe even frightening.

Not because no one wants to show up for you.

But because you've made yourself nearly impossible to show up for.

You say no before anyone can offer.
You deflect before anyone can give.
You apologize before anyone can care.

Not what would happen to them.

What would happen to you?

Could you let someone show up without immediately looking for something to do in return?
Could you ask for what you need without apologizing for it?
Could you receive — fully, without guilt, without keeping score?
