Meet the winners of the #CH4rtCompetition, our first-ever art contest to make invisible methane visible! 🎨

From textured oil paintings and digital art to crochet to tufting, young artists from all across Europe found endlessly inventive ways to interpret methane and make the invisible visible.

We’re delighted to today announce our winners and runners-up. Swipe through to discover the winning artworks:
🏆 Winner: Lucia Tognolli, Time's up
⭐ MEP Prize Winner: Marianne Cederberg, Methanehead
🥈 Runner-up: Béatrice des Boscs, Bigger than us, all around us, within us
🥈 Runner-up: Ángela Llopis Auñón, Invisible footprints: Walking through methane

CH4rt has helped take the methane conversation beyond the usual climate spaces, bringing fresh voices, new audiences and entirely different ways of thinking about the issue into the picture. The result is a collection of striking artwork that challenges us to look again at methane, understand what’s at stake and think about the action we can take.

Thank you to our incredible partner, European Youth Parliament (EYP), for helping us open CH4rt up to young people across Europe, and to our fantastic panel of judges, Helen Spence-Jackson, Lena Schilling MEP, Bec Newman, Simon Clark, Nadieh Bremer and Ali Maeve FitzGerald who brought their expertise, curiosity and enthusiasm to selecting this year’s winners.

Join us in celebrating the artists who helped us see methane in new ways. Explore the full gallery and discover more incredible shortlisted artworks at the link in our bio.
