🚨 LIVE tomorrow, September 14th! 🚨

On episode #442 of Dave Tate’s Table Talk Podcast, Dave and Tom sit down with Dr. Mike T Nelson.

Dr. Mike T. Nelson has spent over twenty-five years studying how the human body works, and he came to it from an unusual direction.

He holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and biomechanics from Michigan Technological University, and he has published in both physiology and engineering peer-reviewed journals.

He is an Associate Professor at the Carrick Institute and the creator of the Flex Diet Certification, the Physiologic Flexibility Certification, and Flexible Meathead Cardio.

His work centers on metabolic flexibility and what he calls the four homeostatic regulators — temperature, pH, fuel, and blood gases — and the argument that the goal of recovery work was never to recover faster, but to make those regulators harder to move.

He has been called in to share his methods with top military groups and professional teams across the NFL, NHL, and NBA, and his work has been featured in TIME, Men’s Health, and BarBend.

In this episode Dave, Tom, and Mike get into why the cold plunge crowd has the mechanism backwards, what the interference effect really costs a lifter, what a mechanical engineer sees in a squat that a physiologist misses, and the 175-pound Thomas Inch dumbbell he is still trying to pick up.
