## Caption

This month, ICE agents shot and killed two men: Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a father of three who had lived in Houston for 35 years, and Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, who was killed during a traffic stop in Maine.

They should both be alive today.

Our hearts go out to their families, and we mourn the loss of so many others who should still be with us.

When government, at all levels, is not accountable to its own rules, our communities and democracy are at risk. ICE's senseless violence cannot continue.

Here in Washington, we must actually enforce Keep Washington Working — a law that forbids collaboration and resource sharing with the federal government for immigration enforcement purposes.

Because not just civil rights, but lives are at stake.
