After pushing my way out of the junior lot when the highly anticipated 2:40 p.m. bell rang, I plopped onto my bed and scrolled on my phone, catching up on my friends’ Snapchat stories posted throughout the school day since the phone ban was established.

I swiped to a poll on one of my friends’ stories labeled, “Help which homecoming dress” with  “Yes for blue, no for pink.” 

I sighed and clicked “yes” for blue, asking myself: “Why can’t people choose based on their opinion and not on others?”
