42 years old and Aaron Rodgers is STILL finding ways to win football games

Pittsburgh opens the season with a 20-13 win over Atlanta, and Rodgers did exactly what the Steelers needed him to do. He finished 24/40 for 221 yards, 1 TD and ZERO interceptions, finding Pat Freiermuth for a 6-yard TD as Pittsburgh took control in the second quarter.

But the play that really broke this game open came from the OTHER Steelers legend.

With Pittsburgh leading just 13-10 early in the fourth, T.J. Watt jumped Cooper Rush, picked him off and took it 35 yards to the HOUSE. Pick-six. 20-10. Game completely flipped.

Atlanta basically asked Bijan Robinson to do everything. He finished with 21 carries for 83 yards AND 8 catches for 90 yards and a TD, giving him 173 yards from scrimmage. But Cooper Rush struggled in the biggest moments, finishing 12/22 for 143 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs.

And Atlanta didn’t help itself either: 9 penalties for 96 yards, two turnovers and only 238 total yards. Pittsburgh wasn’t dominant offensively, but Rodgers protected the football and the defense made the play of the game when it mattered.

It also continues one of the strangest one-sided matchups in football. Atlanta entered today having never won in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers now improve to 17-2-1 all-time against the Falcons.
