Chicago rapper BloodHound Q50, whose real name was Mikquale Cooper, was reportedly shot and ki*led early Sunday morning in Chicago’s Fuller Park neighbourhood. He was only 22 years old and had just celebrated his birthday on August 6.

The shooting happened at approximately 4 a.m. while Q50 was reportedly sitting in the driver’s seat of a white Tesla at a BP gas station on South Wentworth Avenue. 

According to preliminary reporting, two vehicles pulled alongside his car before multiple gunmen opened fire and fled the scene. 

Q50 was struck in the chest and shoulder, and first responders attempted to save him before he was pronounced dead.

Reports citing preliminary police information say more than 50 shots were fired during the ambush. 

No suspects had been arrested as of the latest reporting, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Q50 had become one of the more recognizable young names coming out of Chicago’s drill scene, building momentum through songs including “Don’t Blink or Stare” and “Splash Bros 2,” while recently releasing his project Get Back or Die Trying. 

Regardless of everything surrounding the music and street politics, 22 years old is incredibly young.
