Quarterback transfer Ashton Daniels has completed 29 of his 50 passes (58%) for 327 passing yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception on the year. He has also recorded 24 carries for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground.

Daniels only had 12 completions for 125 yards and 1 touchdown in the 27-24 loss to SMU. Some fans are saying that it is a failed experiment for the former Stanford and Auburn transfer signal-caller.

With that being said, the sky isn’t necessarily falling in Tallahassee, but it is pretty close with the urgency to win now after the 2-10 campaign in 2024 and 5-7 season in 2025. Head coach Mike Norvell is on plenty of hot seat list. However, he cannot worry about the outside noise and has to focus in during the bye week and get ready for Alabama.

Daniels had a 3, -3, 16, 8, 5, 15, 1, 6, 10, 2, 21, 39-yard pass completions. That string of completions won’t be good enough to beat quality competition on a consistent basis. The longest pass completion of the game was a check down to running back Samuel Singleton Jr. It is vital for this offense to be able to showcase a downfield threat to opposing defenses because the Seminoles like to establish the running game with its backs. Head coach Mike Norvell even praised Daniels in the offseason for his ability to push the football downfield.

It is mind blowing that the offense hasn’t done much in the vertical passing attack with having playmakers such as Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy. 🤔 #gonoles #fsufootball #floridastate #ashtondaniels #mikenorvell
