Are we losing the true essence of Ganesh Chaturthi? 🙏

This isn’t against the festival or the way people celebrate it. It’s simply a thought I’ve had this year.

Ganesh Chaturthi has always been about devotion, unity and coming together as a community. But somewhere along the way, have we turned that unity into competition?

In a street with less than 100 houses, seeing multiple mandaps made me wonder — are we growing together, or simply trying to make our celebrations bigger every year?

And beyond that, there’s a bigger concern: our environment. 🌱

When rivers, lakes and ponds are already struggling, where do thousands of idols go after visarjan? The government is making efforts to promote eco-friendly clay idols and discourage POP, but how far are we actually following these guidelines?

These are not criticisms. They are genuine questions worth asking.

Maybe celebrating responsibly is also a form of devotion.

What do you think?
Are we preserving the essence of the festival, or slowly losing it?
