Rodeo szn kicks off with cookoff today, yeehaw! 🤠🐴🍗

Calling all rodeogoers — new and old!! I have rounded up all the info you need to know before you go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!

The actual rodeo kicks off March 2 and runs through March 22. But first…

🍗 RODEO COOKOFF
This event kicks off rodeo season and starts TODAY, Feb. 26, and ends Saturday, Feb. 28. You need grounds tickets or a badge to get in. There’s a public BBQ tent and a stage for concerts, but all the private tents require tickets/wristbands. If you have them, yay! If not, cookoff is still a fun time, just hang in the public areas.

Now for some tips to the show starting March 3!

🚗 GETTING THERE
The hill I die on is that unless you snag an incredible (but elusive) parking pass, the best way to get to and from the rodeo is ridealto. This year, the car service picks up and drops off from the LIMO LOT (green) not the yellow lot with Uber and Lyft. With Alto, you can also preschedule rides, charge your phone, etc.

🤠 THE MAIN EVENT
There’s so much to do on the rodeo grounds, but don’t fumble the actual rodeo, which takes place in NRG Stadium daily. Weekday shows (M-F) start at 6:45 p.m., concert at around 9:15 p.m. Weekend rodeos (Sa-Su) start at 2:45 p.m., concert at around 5:15 p.m.
