Two years ago, Wisdom House was rubble. Today, over 120 students walked through its doors for the new academic year.

Yesterday and today, we celebrate International Literacy Day and the International Day to Protect Education from Attack. For us, they're the same day because in war, a classroom is never just a classroom. It's the first thing that gets destroyed, and the first thing our children ask to have back.

Wisdom House was bombed during the war. We rebuilt it after liberation, board by board, book by book.

This year, at Tomorrow's Dawn tomorrows_dawn_syria, our school for girls and women, its graduates are heading to university to study medicine and other fields. Proof that an education interrupted is not an education lost.
At our schools, the same story is unfolding: children and women reclaiming the right to learn, with nothing to stop them.

Every child who walks into these classrooms is a small act of defiance. Every diploma is a small victory. In Syria, education isn't a luxury we protect once peace arrives. It's how we get there.
