I’ve been trying to find the words to describe KickNBack Year 2… and I keep coming back to one word: HOME.

Algiers raised me. The Westbank shaped me. The Cutoff will always be a part of who I am. So being able to pour back into the same community that poured into me means more than I can explain. Year 1 showed me the idea could work. Year 2 showed me what happens when a village believes in it. More than 500 people came through our doors. Over 40 volunteers showed up to serve. Sponsors and partners gave their resources, relationships, time and trust to help us create something special for our kids and families.

And behind that village is my village.

My family. My close knit circle. My partner. My mother. The people who see the late nights, the stress, the crazy ideas, the “no’s” that turn into “I’ll figure it out”… and still stand beside me through all of it.

Thank you.

And to every sponsor and partner… you didn’t just support an event. You invested in Algiers. You invested in our kids. You invested in our community.

Now we’re heading into Year 3, and I don’t just want KickNBack to get bigger… I want it to mean more. More impact. More opportunities. More communities. More ways to show up throughout the year. The sneaker giveaway is where we started… but it was never where we planned to stop.

There’s a lot happening under the KickNBack umbrella that I can’t wait to share.

Algiers will always be home!

Year 3… July 31, 2027.

Together is our tradition. 💙💛💙💛
