We’ve been collaborating with Battalion Search and Rescue bsarhq for several years now, and their work deserves a much bigger spotlight. They do amazing work for the people who never made it to "A Better Life."

James Holeman might be an unlikely humanitarian, but he’s one of the most dedicated and effective volunteers we’ve met. Month after month, he and his crew put in the miles—searching some of the most remote stretches of the borderlands for people who have been lost and too often forgotten.

And James isn’t afraid to speak truth to power. He’s been relentless in demanding answers and accountability from law enforcement, medical investigators, and the institutions responsible for our deadly border policies and what happens after someone dies in the desert.

What started as a handful of volunteers has become something pretty remarkable—including a crew made up largely of women James proudly calls the “Woman Warriors.”
