## Caption

Autumn Durald Arkapaw ASC breaks down her decision to shoot with two focal lengths — a 50mm and 80mm — on Sinners.

Originally developed by Dan Sasaki for Christopher Nolan and Hoyte van Hoytema ASC NSC FSF, the lenses brought a distinct emotional quality to the film. By limiting the toolkit, Durald Arkapaw and director Ryan Coogler (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Sinners) were able to create a focused, intentional visual language.

Sometimes, fewer choices lead to stronger storytelling.
