Algeria announced on Thursday (September 10) that it has decided to sever diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates, saying they had "exhausted all means of preserving bilateral relations."⁣
⁣
Algeria accused the UAE of destabilising, "provocative or hostile" actions. ⁣
⁣
The two countries have opposing positions on several issues, for example Algeria refuses to establish diplomatic ties with Israel and backs the Polisario Front, which seeks a Western Sahara independent from Morocco.⁣
