Everyone should be able to meaningfully participate in decisions that will affect their lives now and in years to come.

Freedom, human rights and free and fair elections are the essential elements of democracy.

"Each time we choose dialogue over division, and cooperation over confrontation, we strengthen democracy,” said #UnitedNations Secretary-General antonioguterres  on Tuesday’s #DemocracyDay.

“Today and every day, let us recommit to ensuring every voice counts, and that democracy delivers the peace, dignity and inclusion that every society needs and deserves.”
