## Caption

We would like to share a retelling of the Sept. 11 attacks from someone who was in the North Tower that morning. Despite the odds, Erik Ronningen survived. He was at the 9/11 Memorial in Clovis last year and shared his memories with us. But not everyone was so lucky. A number of people with ties to the Central Valley lost their lives that day. U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Otis Vincent Tolbert was among those killed at the Pentagon.
