## Caption

Monday marks 125 years since Theodore Roosevelt took the oath of office at the Wilcox House at 641 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo to become the 26th President of the United States.

Roosevelt became president after the death of William McKinley, who was shot eight days earlier at the Pan-American Exposition.

Buffalo is one of four U.S. cities that has held an impromptu inauguration after the death of a president.
