Sesto Elemento — Italian for The Sixth Element.

Carbon's atomic number. The name tells you everything about what Lamborghini built here.

The Sesto Elemento debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show as a concept so extreme that Lamborghini's engineers used carbon fibre not just for the bodywork but for the chassis, driveshaft, and suspension arms — making it one of the most carbon-intensive machines ever built at the time. The result was a kerb weight of just 999kg — extraordinary for a car producing 562 horsepower from a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10, giving a power to weight ratio that remains the highest of any road-going Lamborghini ever produced.

0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds. Top speed of 320km/h. Track only — never road legal anywhere in the world. Lamborghini announced 20 units. Evidence from vehicle identification number records suggests as few as 10 were actually completed — making it potentially the rarest Lamborghini in existence. Price at launch was $2.92 million USD. Current values are considerably higher. The sixth element did not just inspire the name. It defined everything the car was, is, and always will be.

Is the Sesto Elemento the most significant Lamborghini ever built?
