The S197 Mustang with a supercharger strapped to its V8 is a genuinely serious piece of straight line machinery — the kind of car that embarrasses most things it lines up against on a drag strip. Most things. The BMW S1000RR does not negotiate with forced induction American muscle. An inline-four spinning to 14,000rpm, 196 horsepower in a package weighing 197kg, and a power to weight ratio that makes the physics entirely one sided regardless of what is lining up next to it. The Mustang never had a chance. It just did not know that yet.
