Check your mirrors before you turn. This is exactly why.

Two riders pushing hard on the freeway when a car changes lanes without checking — leaving the rider with no space and no time. The swerve to avoid the car sends both bikes into the central reservation, and what happens next is the kind of footage that is genuinely hard to watch. One mirror check. One moment of awareness. That is all it would have taken for this entire situation to never happen. Speed gets blamed for a lot of crashes that are actually caused by somebody simply not looking.

We hope both riders are okay. Please ride safe and stay aware out there.
