Forty years ago Suzuki introduced a motorcycle that permanently changed what a sportbike could be — and in 2026 they are marking that milestone with one of the most significant GSX-R editions ever produced.

In 1985 Suzuki introduced the GSX-R750 — the first motorcycle in the GSX-R lineage — a machine built on technology derived directly from the World Endurance Championship that rewrote the rulebook for production sportbikes overnight. 

The 2026 40th Anniversary Edition honours that legacy with a substantially updated 999.8cc inline-four engine featuring new crankcases, a crankshaft with larger diameter journals, a new cylinder head, and a four-in-two-in-one exhaust system with titanium muffler. (Ducati Carbon) The colour schemes were specifically chosen to mirror the famous racing liveries of the most memorable winning GSX-R race machines from across four decades — with standard carbon winglets inspired by the GSX-R1000R competing in the Suzuka 8-hour endurance race. 

Priced from €19,990 — approximately $23,190 USD — and available from summer 2026 in three anniversary colour variants. The GSX-R family has claimed 15 FIM Endurance World Championship titles across its lifetime. This edition exists to remind everyone exactly how it got there.
