do i regret buying my home? not at all. have i had to be talked off the ledge of possible regret because of the taxes alone? oh absolutely.  this is genuinely a cyclical issue. Detroiters lose their homes because of unreasonably high taxes (by way of tax foreclosure) and have to leave, possibly the city and go elsewhere, the tax base shrinks because there are fewer residents, taxes continue to stay high or go higher because people keep leaving. #detroit #propertytaxes #detroitlife
