Game 19 of the inaugural MaxPreps Flag Football Showdown that is being held Sept. 11-12 in San Diego, Calif., featuring 18 of the nation's top high school girls teams from multiple states.

Despite entering its inaugural girls flag football season, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) immediately becomes one of the nation's most intriguing teams after assembling an all-star roster heading into the MaxPreps Flag Football Showdown Sept. 11-12.
The roster is loaded with elite talent, beginning with Orange Lutheran transfer and reigning MaxPreps Junior of the Year Makena Cook, who instantly gives the Trailblazers an elite quarterback. Sophomore Ava Irwin, the reigning MaxPreps California Freshman of the Year, starred at unbeaten JSerra Catholic last season, hauling in 1,903 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns while adding 94 flag pulls and 15 interceptions on defense. She will be joined by fellow receiver Angelina Dubois, who also transferred from Orange Lutheran after piling up 1,747 yards and 31 touchdowns a year ago, and Ayden Klaiber, a Team USA representative who arrives from Florida.

After capturing its first North Coast Section Division 1 championship without a senior on the roster, San Ramon Valley (Danville, Calif.) returns nearly every key contributor as it prepares for the inaugural MaxPreps Flag Football Showdown on Sept. 11-12.  Among the anticipated returners, junior quarterback Gia Ryan directs the offense after throwing for 3,007 yards and 30 touchdowns while adding four rushing scores. A Division I softball recruit, Ryan is surrounded by a versatile group of playmakers led by senior Jersey Camacho, who contributed at quarterback, receiver and on defense while accounting for 19 total touchdowns. Seniors Asha Hanger, Hania Bowes and Lena Clark, along with section championship game MVP Tatum Prindiville, give the Wolves one of Northern California's deepest receiving corps.

MaxPreps and iFlag are partnering to launch the two-part national invitational tournament designed to establish the first rankings-backed, media-scaled championship stage for high school flag football. The September tournament will take place at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista with a second East Coast event planned for Spring 2027.
