As dad always said "Be Prepared..Be Safe..Look Out For One Another"

I write this post while trying to hold back tears.. Its hard to believe the day has finally come.  That today is my Dads last shift as a firefighter.. They say the fire department is a family and thats the truest statement thats ever been said. VBFD means so much to me. When i say ive grown up in this department i really have.. Some of my earliest memories are down at the same building I work in now our fire training center. The fire station my dad was ever stationed at (company 12) I pass by every day. When I was away in Illinois people would reach out every so often to check in on me. Its such an honor to be working in the media shop and showing off this department i love so much. 
To everyone who has worked on a shift with my dad.. Thank you for being part of his story. To 21B thank you guys for being his last crew. You all mean so much to me. 
 Its so hard to think tomorrow there will only be 1 Lowery working for Virginia Beach Fire Department. Happy Retirement Dad.. I love you so much.
