When LeBron leaves a team, we usually don’t hear about them for a few years. They fall down the standings, end up in the lottery, and start trying to rebuild after all their assets came and went around the King in pursuit of an NBA title. A title he’s brought to every team he’s played for, for better and for worse.

But with the Lakers, things are undoubtedly different. There was always a dual focus on the LeBron era and whatever came after it. And now, with Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler, could this team actually be better than the Lakers were last year?
