Learn how to use Adobe's brand-new Firefly Image Model 5 in Photoshop 2026 to easily change elements in your photos. This tutorial walks you through using Generative Fill to swap clothing colors, understanding the updated premium credit system, and cleanly blending AI edits with layer masks.

Firefly Image Model 5 is a huge quality jump over previous models, and it now lets you talk to it in plain, natural language. We'll also cover Photoshop's new Remove tool for automatically clearing distractions, then finish the image in Camera Raw using grain, a vignette, and the powerful (and often overlooked) Point Color tool.

THE STEPS
1. Select your entire image, then click Generative Fill and choose the Firefly Image 5 model
2. Check your generative credit balance and the Features tab to see the cost of each tool on your plan
3. Describe your desired edit in plain language and click Generate
4. Select just the areas you want to keep with the Object Selection tool and load that selection into a layer mask
5. Use the Remove tool's Find Distractions feature to detect and clear clutter automatically, then clean up manually
6. Flatten your edits onto a new layer with Apply Image and convert it to a Smart Object for Camera Raw
7. In Camera Raw, add grain and a vignette, then use Point Color on masked selections to shift hue, saturation, and variance
8. Add a final radial gradient to brighten your subject, protecting the highlights
