THE #AFFORDABILITY SCAM

Everybody campaigns on “affordability.”

Then the answer is MORE PROPERTY TAX.

I've answered election questionnaires asking candidates whether #Toronto needs more revenue to pay for more services to PROGRESS.

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU VOTE FOR.

Some candidates are prepared to support even HIGHER property taxes next year to fund more spending.

I received the same third-party election questionnaires. My answer was NO.

You cannot campaign on “affordability” while continuously sending taxpayers a bigger bill.

PROPERTY TAX MUST BE THE LAST RESORT.

Before you ask families for another dollar, SHOW ME WHERE THE LAST DOLLAR WENT.

HISTORY Lesson:

Before amalgamation 1998, Mel Lastman's North York went 5 YEARS without a property-tax increase, cut expenditures by $89 MILLION, was virtually debt-free and held almost $200 MILLION in reserves—while Lastman boasted about services including snow removal.

Then came amalgamation in 1998.

So 28 years later, I'm willing to ask the uncomfortable question:

IS THE MEGACITY MODEL DELIVERING FOR ETOBICOKE NORTH?

I'm not proposing to abandon Toronto. I'm demanding that we finally audit whether the Forgotten North is receiving value proportional to what its residents pay.

And homelessness? Toronto is spending enormous sums on shelters and housing infrastructure. Don't attack frontline workers—they're doing the work.

FOLLOW THE MONEY ABOVE THEM.

What are the outcomes?
What are the contracts costing?
Why are residents still telling me our shelters need to be safer, cleaner and more dignified?

My answer isn't another tax.

■ Property-tax rollback + freeze
■ Fight postal-code auto-insurance discrimination
■ Faster housing approvals
■ Clean, dignified shelters built around reintegration
■ New City revenue streams
■ Audit waste before touching frontline workers

After knocking doors across Etobicoke North, something is becoming very clear:

People want generational change.

2026 isn't just another election.

It's a transition.

The Old Guard had its time. A new generation is walking onto the pavement.

I'll see you at your door, #Etobicoke North. 🚪
