My seven-year-old just asked me to teach him Magic, and I might be more excited than he is. Lesson one stays simple: lands, vanilla creatures, and combat. How to start a turn and end a turn. I don't care about bad plays. I want him understanding enough to make his own decisions, learn from his mistakes, and have fun doing it. This is bigger than a card game. It's something I love that I finally get to share with my son, and if he falls for it too, we've got something to play together for the rest of our lives. Parents who play Magic, I need you.
