Sometimes you know your child is struggling, but the data being shared at the IEP meeting doesn’t seem to tell the same story. That’s when I start asking questions👇

One piece of data should never be used to paint the entire picture of how a child is doing, and ideally the school team has already asked themselves these questions too...

But if you feel like things are being missed, the data doesn’t match what you’re seeing, or you’re being refused supports or services you believe your child needs because the data shows they’re “doing fine,” you can (and should!) push back.

So save these questions for your next IEP meeting and share it with another parent who you think it could help!🫶
