Meet meriem.elyajouri, Postdoctoral Fellow at the space_telescopes, NASA's science operations center for the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes.

Meriem studies interstellar dust in star-forming regions — cosmic laboratories where radiation, dust, and gas collide to create the molecules that eventually shape stars, planets, and maybe even life. Her job: turning raw light collected by telescopes into meaning.

This new generation of scientists is already asking the questions that will shape tomorrow.

Under the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development, UNESCO is partnering with the axa Foundation for Human Progress and the_nature_magazine to shine a spotlight on a new generation of researchers.
