✈️ Planning a wine trip to Lake Constance? Save this route. 😊⛵

This is how I would explore it.

Across the Swiss 🇨🇭 and German 🇩🇪 shores of Lake Constance, wineries, vineyard villages, historic towns, local gastronomy and some incredible landscapes can all become part of the same wine journey.

And after experiencing it myself, I turned my route into the Ultimate Wine Lover’s Guide to Lake Constance based entirely on places I actually visited.

🍇 Start in Schaffhausen & Klettgau, discovering Swiss Pinot Noir country, before crossing to the German shore for the lakeside vineyards of Hagnau and the historic wine culture of Meersburg.

Continue through Konstanz and Nonnenhorn, where wine moves from local culture to smaller, more intimate producer experiences, before crossing the lake again towards Thurgau and Arenenberg.

And make room for the food. Fresh lake fish, tartare and seasonal regional dishes paired with local wines aren’t an extra here, gastronomy is another way of understanding the region.

One of my biggest tips? Don’t think only about the destinations. Think about the journey between them. 🚆⛴️

Trains, buses, ferries and walking routes connect the different stops, while crossing the lake becomes an experience in itself.
