Can you really experience Jerez in just one day? 🤔🇪🇸✈️

Probably not.

But you can get a pretty good taste of what makes this place unlike anywhere else.

Start with a walk through the historic centre, where wine is not something that exists behind winery doors. It feels like part of the architecture, the food, the conversations and the rhythm of the city.

Step inside a bodega and suddenly you enter a completely different world: cathedral-like cellars, rows of old barrels, the smell of wine ageing quietly and a winemaking system that has shaped the identity of Jerez for generations.

Then comes the part I never skip when travelling through a wine region: the table.

Tapas, local flavours and, of course, Sherry — because here you quickly understand that there isn’t just one Sherry, but an entire universe of styles waiting to be explored.

And somewhere between another glass, another street and another story, you realise why some wine regions cannot really be understood through wine alone.

24 hours in Jerez. A very small introduction to a very big wine culture.

This is part of my journey through Spain, exploring the places, people and traditions that make Spanish wine culture what it is.

And Jerez? Definitely a place I’d come back to with more than one day. 🍷
