Meet Sydney Prince, lead race engineer on the No. 42 Toyota at legacy.motorclub, making her mark in the NASCAR Cup Series 🏁🔧

Growing up racing micro sprints and sprint cars with her family team, she ran the No. 14 and picked up the nickname “Smoke Jr.” as she was a Tony Stewart fan.

Four years ago she was an intern. She graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2022, engineered Rajah Caruth’s truck in 2023, joined Jimmie Johnson’s Cup team in 2024, and by 2025 she was calling the shots as lead engineer on jhnemechek’s car!

At the 2025 Daytona 500, she was one of only two women on a Cup pit box as an engineer. At Texas and Dover, she was the only one in the entire field that season.

Sydney is a reminder that there’s more than one way to make your mark as a woman in motorsport 💪
