The Lower Nahanni is protected because the people who live there fought for it. 🌲🛶

The Nahʔą Dehé Dene Band of the Dehcho First Nations, alongside outfitters including nahanniriveradventures, helped secure National Park Reserve status for the watershed. Now they run week-long paddling trips through it, past rocky peaks, Dall sheep, bison, and dozens of resident bird species, ending at the park boundary at Nahanni Butte. 🐦
