NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 is making GTA V look better… but there’s a bizarre side effect. 👀

A new demo of NVIDIA’s neural rendering technology shows just how dramatically AI can change the way games are rendered. Instead of simply improving lighting and image quality, the system can reconstruct visual details in ways that sometimes produce completely unexpected results.

In GTA V, characters can start looking seriously distorted, with faces and textures morphing into something that looks more like an AI hallucination than a normal game render.

It’s a fascinating reminder of the trade-off that can come with neural graphics: AI can create incredibly convincing visuals, but when the reconstruction goes wrong, the results can get very strange very quickly.
