🇺🇸 Hundreds gathered today for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in Patriots Park, marking 25 years since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. 

👮🧑‍🚒 The event was led by Venice Police Department Chief Andy Leisenring and Venice FL Fire Rescue Chief Frank Giddens, and featured a proclamation and moments of silence for those lost by Mayor Nick Pachota; the National Anthem sung by Lou Patch; speaker Kevin Hanley, who gave a tribute to his brother, late NY firefighter Sean Hanley; “New York for Firemen” performed on guitar by Jim Chaps; essay presentation by Nazar, a Venice Christian School 5th grader; speaker Cordy Crane reading a City Hall staff member’s recollections of the day; speaker Mike Caposella, retired Battalion Chief with the Paterson, NJ Fire Department who worked at ground zero; “Amazing Grace” performed on bagpipes by Bob Fair; gun salute by American Legion Post 159; taps performed on trumpet by Nick Sperry; and invocation and benediction by Pastor Will Cravens.
