A landmark collection of Modern and Impressionist works, largely unseen for decades, will take center stage at The Paris Sales this October. ‘Le Temps Retrouvé: The Schlumberger Collection’ features 28 masterworks, led by Monet’s extraordinary painting ‘Iris.’

The collection comes from Jeanne Schlumberger, the first private collector to understand Monet’s revolutionary late works. Highlights will travel to Hong Kong and New York ahead of the auction at #SothebysParis on 22 October, presented in partnership with celine. For the full collection details, tap the link in bio.

At the heart of the collection lies the story of two pioneering women whose conviction helped shape the legacy of some of the greatest artists of the modern era: Jeanne Schlumberger and gallerist Katia Granoff.

Between 1862 and 1864, Paul Cezanne painted the ground floor walls of his home in Provence with a large mural. In 1899, the mural was detached, transferred to canvas, and divided into eight fragments. Three of these compositions—acquired by Jeanne through Katia—will be offered in this sale, including ‘La Ferme,’ shown here.

Gustave Moreau’s ‘Rêve d’Orient’ is one of the greatest works by the artist ever to come to auction. It displays all the characteristics that define his finest paintings: luminous color, exquis
