## Caption

This clock is a haunting physical record of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. On August 9, 1945, a nuclear weapon exploded over the city at exactly 11:02 a.m. A damaged wall clock found near the hypocenter had its hands stopped at that moment, preserving a precise trace of the explosion. The clock is now displayed as a reminder of the destruction caused by nuclear weapons and of the thousands of lives affected that morning, making an ordinary object an extraordinary historical witness.
