Introducing: Sue Campbell Hall! 📢 

We’re pleased to announce our new hall, opening for the 2027/28 academic year, will be named after Loughborough alum Baroness Sue Campbell, who is widely regarded as one of the most influential women in sport. 

A former national netball player, coach and team manager, Sue began her career as a PE teacher, before joining Loughborough in 1976 as the University’s first female lecturer in Physical Education. 

In 2003, Sue was appointed as the Chair of UK Sport, during which time she oversaw the successful performance of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

The Sue Campbell Hall of Residence will be the first hall built on campus for seven years. The hall will provide 552 bedrooms across five blocks, offering self-catered, en-suite facilities with shared study and social space. 

When the hall opens in Autumn 2027, there will be rooms available to both new and returning undergraduate students.
