Transforming Futures: Enhancing Practice for ESD for 2030 through Action Research explores how action research can help educators and institutions strengthen Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in practice.

Implemented across 10 countries and 41 institutions, the project brought educators and education leaders together to test, reflect on and strengthen approaches to ESD in their own contexts.

The project has resulted in three new UNESCO guidance tools, focusing on:
- Whole-institution approaches — supporting institutions to embed sustainability across their policies, practices and learning environments.
- Pedagogies and competencies for sustainability — strengthening teaching and learning approaches that develop the knowledge, skills, values and capacities needed for sustainable futures.
- Assessment in Education for Sustainable Development — exploring approaches to assessing learning and competencies for sustainability.

This video highlights the project, its key lessons and the launch of these practical guidance tools, designed to support educators, institutions and policymakers in enhancing and scaling Education for Sustainable Development.
