Watch the Condensed Game from Towson Tigers vs. South Carolina Gamecocks, 09/12/2026

Towson 9, South Carolina 45
Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC. September 12, 2026

South Carolina survived a lengthy lightning delay and a sluggish offensive night to rout Towson 45-9, getting two punt-return touchdowns from Vicari Swain and 500-plus total yards despite a shaky performance through the air.

Swain set the tone almost immediately, returning a punt 58 yards for a touchdown less than five and a half minutes into the game. South Carolina led 17-3 at halftime after a Matt Fuller 55-yard touchdown run and a Max Kelley field goal, with Towson answering with two field goals of its own from Zaydaan Faridi. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who had thrown for three touchdowns a week earlier against Kent State, struggled to find rhythm through the air all night, completing less than half his passes in the first half.

Sellers broke off a 58-yard touchdown run to open the second half and push the lead to 24-3, but the celebration was short-lived. Less than three minutes into the third quarter, a torrential downpour with lightning rolled into Williams-Brice Stadium, halting play with 12:07 left in the third quarter for roughly an hour and 14 minutes. Towson came out of the delay and scored first, with Andrew Indorf connecting with Aaron Enterline for a 23-yard touchdown to cut it to 24-9. South Carolina answered right back, and in the closing seconds of the third quarter, Swain broke free again, this time for a 45-yard punt-return touchdown, his second of the night and a new program career record, pushing the lead to 31-9.

Head coach Shane Beamer turned to his backups after that drive, and the reserves delivered, with Jabree Coleman scoring on a 3-yard run and Isaiah Augustave breaking off a 55-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring. Fuller finished with 125 rushing yards, and Sellers added 119 yards on the ground to go with a modest 10-for-23, 96-yard passing line and an interception. Indorf threw for 171 yards for Towson, which managed just 203 total yards on the night.

The win improved South Carolina to 2-0, though its offensive struggles through the air for the second straight week echoed some of the same issues that defined the Gamecocks' up-and-down 2025 campaign. Towson fell to 0-3. South Carolina opens SEC play next week at home against Mississippi State.
