According to nbcnews, the helicopter went down in a parking lot in Chatsworth shortly before 7 p.m. NBC Los Angeles identified the two people on board as aerial photojournalist #ElianaMoreno and pilot #GeorgeMarciniw, both employees of Angel City Air, which operated the aircraft.

Officials said three people died at the scene and two others were taken to the hospital. One of those killed was reportedly a pedestrian on the ground. A witness said the helicopter appeared to sway and lose altitude before crashing.

The crew had been covering a separate collision involving a Los Angeles Metro bus and a passenger vehicle that left two people dead and others injured.

NBC Los Angeles expressed heartbreak over the loss of Moreno and Marciniw, remembering them as people who loved their work and breaking-news coverage. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and everyone impacted by both tragedies. 🙏🏾
