GTA: San Andreas is over 20 years old, but a new experiment is making the 2004 classic look almost like a modern game using an unofficial DLSS 5 neural rendering setup.

Rather than rebuilding the entire game, the experiment changes the way the existing environment is rendered, improving things like lighting, shadows, roads, materials, reflections, and other visual details.

The fascinating part is that the original San Andreas is still there underneath. Neural rendering is essentially reinterpreting the same game world and giving it a much more modern appearance in real time.

If this technology continues to advance, some classic games could receive major visual upgrades without requiring complete remakes.
