The Rock's next movie has him as a 70-year-old man called Chicken Man, whose companion is a 111-year-old chicken named Claudia.

Lizard Music is a live-action and CGI hybrid from director Benny Safdie, who also wrote the script, based on Daniel Pinkwater's novel. Per Deadline, the film follows a boy left to his own devices who stumbles onto a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music when a hidden door swings open. His search for answers leads him to Chicken Man and Claudia, and the three set off on what starts as a hunt for a hidden society.

Newcomer Theo Clark Leber plays the boy. Regina Hall plays Chicken Man's friend and co-worker. Tim Heidecker, Alicia Silverstone, Arya Parvathi and Andrew Dice Clay round out the cast. Amazon MGM Studios is distributing under United Artists, with Seven Bucks Productions among the producers.

Johnson, who reunites with Safdie after The Smashing Machine, is reportedly in makeup and prosthetics for five hours a day for the role. He said over the weekend that his 50-pound weight loss was for this movie.

Filming began August 3 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta and is scheduled to wrap October 14. No release date has been announced.
