Holly Rowe sportsiren has spent more than three decades proving that there’s no single way to belong in sports media. She joined ESPN full-time in 1998, has covered some of the biggest stages in college and professional sports, and has received multiple Sports Emmy Nominations, winning the 2022 Sports Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Reporter. 🎤

But Rowe’s impact goes far beyond her resume. She has spent her career on some of the biggest stages for men’s sports, while simultaneously championing women’s sports. No matter where, she relentlessly pursues the stories of athletes who deserve to be seen and heard.

Rowe has also continued showing up through one of the most difficult chapters of her personal life. After being diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic melanoma, Rowe continued working while undergoing treatment, and has since become an advocate for cancer research and prevention. She has spoken openly about how much her work, the athletes she covers, and the stories she tells have helped carry her through that experience.

Rowe has built a career around resilience, persistence, and giving athletes a platform — while navigating challenges of her own. Women in sports media are still too often asked to navigate barriers that their male counterparts don’t face. Rowe’s career is a reminder of what it looks like to keep showing up, keep pushing forward, and keep making space for those who come next.

Holly Rowe is a beacon of professionalism, and sports media is better, and more inclusive, because of her. 💚
