A round up of some outstanding NYC sweets since I haven’t done this in awhile! Save this post for your next trip (or just trip to Brooklyn lol) 💓

1. Devil’s food cake from lacantinebushwick - been wanting to make a trip here for forever and it did not disappoint! (passionfruit mallomar was also incredible)
2. The softest most pillowy chocolate plum torte from _sidnichka_ (via the Great Community Bake Sale). If you need a custom cake/pastry in NYC, she is insanely talented!
3. theabakerynyc quickly rose to one of my fav bk bakeries thanks to their flaky tomato tart (excited to see what they have on offer for fall)
4. UGH this apple cider donut from harvestmoonorchard!! I think the closest version at-home version would be jessiesheehanbakes’ apple cider donut recipe for equally craggy edges with a feather-light interior
5. yossyarefi’s olive oil yuzu cake (also from the bake sale!) - I think she has a related olive oil cake recipe on her substack and it’s so worth making
6. Chef zac_young’s PieCaken is actually so delicious and not as over the top as you might think—find it at societycafenyc
7. breadivorebakery - tried a bunch of things with dusdoughs and the cheese bun was our favorite!
8. winsonbakery’s mochi donuts live rent free in my head
9. The texture of milkbarstore’s fall pumpkin cake is PERFECT
10. Still thinking about the grape nuts flavor from heaps.icecream - need to see what’s on offer for fall
11. A PSA that the cornbread from cadence.newyork is basically dessert and you should go enjoy a full meal at this plant-based soul food restaurant! (Biscuits and gravy omg)
