Another stop on the media circuit, this time with renadannobil on bbc_berkshire, talking about the asianfootballawards with just two weeks to go. 🎙️🏆

It was good to have the time to talk properly about why we started the Awards back in 2012, what we’ve seen change since then and why, 14 years later, there is still a need to keep pushing the conversation around South Asians in football.

The programme also goes out across BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Solent, so the conversation reached listeners across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and parts of the surrounding Home Counties.

Have been doing quite a bit of media in the build-up to the Awards, and there’s a reason for that. If we want to see more South Asians progressing in football, we have to keep talking about it. Not just amongst ourselves or to people already involved in the conversation, but to wider audiences as well.

The talent is there. The passion for football is certainly there. The question is whether enough of that talent is being spotted, developed and given the chance to progress. The media can play an important part in keeping that question on the agenda.

Thanks to Rena for having me on and for a really enjoyable conversation.

And now, after nearly two years of work, we are just two weeks away from bringing everyone together for the sixth Asian Football Awards.
