## Caption

Paying the Nismo tax gets you a body kit, a stiffer ride, and about 18 horsepower you'll never feel on a backroad. The 6MT Sport is the same car with money left over. Change my mind.

Here's the version that actually works:

Buy the Sport Package, six-speed, and check that it has the viscous LSD and the Nissan Sport brakes — 14-inch fronts with the four-pot calipers. SynchroRev Match comes with it, and yes, you can turn it off. That's the whole car right there. Everything after this is fitment and tires.

Skip the bolt-on phase. The VQ37VHR is a good engine that responds to almost nothing you can bolt to it — an intake and a cat-back buys you noise and a dyno graph you'll show one person. If you genuinely want power, save for boost or long-tube headers with a real tune. Otherwise put that money into rubber and stop lying to yourself.

Coilovers, but be an adult about it. Around an inch to an inch and a quarter down keeps the geometry sane and the front lip alive. Go lower and you're buying rear camber arms and a traction rod kit to fix problems you created on purpose.

Then go square. The factory 245/275 stagger exists so the car understeers safely for someone who's never driven it. 19x10 all around with 275s at both ends turns it into a completely different chassis — rotates on throttle, front end stops washing out mid-corner. Just measure your caliper clearance first if you're eyeing 18s, because those Sport brakes eat most of the cheap 18-inch options and everyone finds out the same way.

The fastest 370Z at any given meet is a Sport model on square 200TWs with nothing under the hood. That's not a hot take, that's just what shows up.
